Nancy Nyabuti, MA, LPCC

Founder & Mental Health Therapist

With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, my work includes providing therapy for adults, couples, children, and families in Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park, as well as telehealth therapy across Minnesota. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, relationship challenges, life transitions, and family stress.

My work as a therapist is deeply influenced by both my professional training and my personal life experiences. I am an immigrant, and that experience has shaped how I understand identity, belonging, family systems, cultural expectations, and the challenges that come with navigating multiple cultures, roles, and expectations at the same time. Because of this, I am especially passionate about working with immigrants, children of immigrants, multicultural families, and individuals who often feel like they don't fully fit into one space or another.

I also have personal and professional experience with neurodivergence, which has given me a strong appreciation for different ways of thinking, learning, processing emotions, and moving through the world. This has led me to develop a neurodiversity-affirming approach to therapy, where the goal is not to "fix" a person, but to help them better understand themselves, build systems that work for their brain, strengthen relationships, and build a life that feels sustainable and meaningful.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, identity questions, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I also work with couples who are trying to improve communication, rebuild trust, navigate conflict, or better understand each other and their relationship patterns. In addition, I work with children, teens, and families who are navigating behavioral challenges, emotional regulation, school difficulties, family stress, and neurodivergence.

My therapy style is warm, collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel understood, but also a place where you gain tools, insight, and new ways of approaching your life and relationships. I often help clients understand patterns in their lives and relationships, improve communication, set boundaries, regulate emotions, and build systems and routines that support their goals and values.

Outside of my work as a therapist, I am a parent and homeschool educator, and much of my life is centered around family, learning, and building community. These experiences continue to shape how I understand child development, family dynamics, education systems, and the many pressures that individuals, couples, and families face today.

My goal as a therapist is to create a space where people feel safe, respected, understood, and supported as they work through difficult experiences, build healthier relationships, and move toward the kind of life they want to live.
